Genesis 5 Tips

Reliability of Genesis 5 can be instantly increased by having a proper Genesis hosts order. That is, the order that certain file hosts appear when you pick a show or movie can affect your Genesis experience!

There has been some criticism over Genesis 5 the last few days and people have been complaining about unreliability in some of the hosts. Most of this has to do with how good Gvideo was, which used to be the first link for many of the TV shows in Genesis. With Gvideo not currently an option, many other hosts have been having trouble matching the quality.
Changing your Genesis hosts order changes which hosts appear first when you try to watch a TV show or movie. Some of the new Genesis hosts that are ranked high like Grifthost and 180upload are just not as reliable as others right now and this is causing most of the problems.
NOTE: These Genesis hosts order settings are only valid for Genesis 5.0.1. A new update will require these to be revisited again. This will not fix problems for everyone. Some issues are location dependent and some servers change daily to work and not work. This is simply a snapshot of what is working for many people right now.
These Genesis hosts order settings can be changed by hovering over Genesis in your video add-ons, pressing the “c” context/menu button, and going into add-on settings.
Movies Tab – Disable the following:
  • Alluc (unreliable)
  • Muchmovies (shut down)
  • Vkbox (server issues)
  • Icefilms (unless you are a subscriber to a premium host like real-debrid)
TV Tab – Disable the following:
  • Alluc (unreliable)
  • Ororo (resolver issues)
  • VKbox (server issues)
  • Icefilms (unless you are a subscriber to a premium host like real-debrid)
HD Hosts Order (sorted from fastest to slowest)
  • Gvideo
  • YIFY
  • Openload
  • Videomega
  • zStream
  • Turbovideos
  • Skyvids
  • Mightyupload
  • Clicknupload
  • 180upload
SD Hosts Order (sorted from high quality down to low quality)
  • Openload
  • zStream
  • Mrfile
  • Clicknupload
  • Promptfile
  • Vidlockers
  • V-vids
  • Turbovideos
  • Mightyupload
  • Gvideo
  • Vidspot
  • Streamin
  • Allmyvideos
  • Vidto
  • Streamcloud
  • Letwatch
  • Divxpress

Setup your Genesis 5 add-on with the hosts order mentioned above and see if it helps your Genesis 5 setup!
Have you found other hosts in Genesis that work better or worse? Let us know on Facebook and we would be happy to pass that information on!

TOP 5 KODI LIVE TV ADDONS

We will preface this entire article by saying that we view live streams as just a bonus to all of the on demand video streams that are available in Kodi. If you can get some live streams to work then great. If not, just enjoy the on demand video streams that are available.
Live TV Addons in Kodi come and go very quickly. The addon that you were using yesterday flawlessly may be gone tomorrow. The reason that Kodi Live TV addons come and go so fast is actually very simple; they require constant attention and updating. Without getting into all of the details Kodi Live TV addons need to be maintained on a daily basis to be consistent and to have the majority of stream be working. So when a developer creates a Live TV addon they will usually keep up with it for a while and it works great. But they a few weeks or months go by and they forget about it and you now have an addon that is 90% dead links.
So for this article we wanted to highlight 3 Kodi Live TV Addon veterans that are tried and true and also 2 up and comers for our Top 5 Live TV Kodi Addons.
#5 – GorillaStreams 2.0 Kodi Live TV Addon
GorillaStreams 2.0 is a fairly new Live TV addon in the world of Kodi. As with all Live TV addons not every single link works. But we have used this addon a lot in the past few weeks and find that it is very consistent and that the majority of links work and are of good quality. As with all Kodi Live TV Addons we have no idea what the longevity of this addon will be. But for now it has a wide selection of channels and seems to be maintained very well.
#4 - CCloud Kodi Live TV Addon
CCloud along with GorillaStreams 2.0 are very new Live TV addons. CCloud started out its life as a website with different pages for different types of streaming players. It had a vast selection of channels and always seemed that almost every channel worked. While we liked the program itself, it was a little cumbersome to use on a browser.
A month or so ago CCloud popped up as a Kodi Live TV Addon. We have tested this addon for the past few weeks and have found it to be very good. We were especially impressed with the amount of live channels that were offered. To that same effect we were impressed that the addon shows when the channel was last updated. This however does not guarantee that a stream is available even if it was recently updated. As with Gorilla Streams it is a relatively new addon, so we will have to see how long it is continued to be maintained at this high level of performance.
#3 – SportsDevil Kodi Live TV Addon
While you may be thinking that it is weird that Sportsdevil made it to number 3 in our Top 5 Live TV Addons as it also made it into our top 5 Kodi Addons list. But Sportsdevil is a jack of all trades. Many people have no idea that Sportsdevil also offers live channels and not just live sports. 99% of people open up Sportsdevil and immediately click on Live Sports, totally missing the links that says Live TV. Within that Live TV section you will find about 20+ different services that offer live TV channels. While we have not tested each and every one, we have tested some of them with decent success. The Live TV capabilities added to the already awesome live sports capabilities are what put The Sportsdevil Kodi addon in the number 3 spot on our list.
#2 – Vdubt25 Kodi Live TV Addon
The Vdubt25 Kodi Live TV Addon is a veteran in the world of live TV. The addon itself is under a year old, but prior to Vdubt25 releasing his Kodi addon he created M3U IPTV lists for a good amount of time. So please don’t think that just because his addon is fairly new that he is a newbie at this live TV game.
The reason that the Vdubt25 Kodi Live TV Addon made it to the number 2 spot on our list is consistency. He seems to update his channels and links very regularly. We love consistency in a live TV addon and Vdubt25 gives you just that. His addon is one of the few that we feel confident that when we click on a link there is a great chance that it will work and be a good quality stream.
While Vdubt25 offers many channels of all different kinds, we have found in our use that he focuses a little more on the live sports streams and offers many live sporting events in his addon. We would definitely suggest checking out the Vdubt25 Kodi Live TV Addon if you are looking for some live streams.
#1 – BBTS Kodi Live TV Addon
The BBTS Kodi Live TV Addon has a very similar history to the Vdubt25 addon. BBTS started out by creating M3U IPTV lists and ended up creating his own Kodi Live TV Addon.
What sets the BBTS Kodi addon apart from all of the rest is the vast amount of channels offered. During his M3U IPTV list days BBTS had over 1,000 channels and was updated very frequently. We have not counted how many channels are offered in the Kodi addon, but we suspect it is somewhere in the thousand area.
But the amount of channel streams offered is not the only thing that impresses us with the BBTS addon. The fact that he offers channels from all over the world in just about every language is extremely impressive. So if you are looking for international channel streams BBTS is a great place to start.
Conclusion
As we stated in the beginning of this article Live TV Streams and Addons come and go very quickly. An addon or live channel you were using yesterday might not work today. That is just the way it is.
If you have to have live TV and have it be consistent and always available you have two options.
  1. Pay for a basic cable service from your local provider.
  2. Get an HD TV Antenna that picks up your local channels through over the air broadcast signals.
All in all Live TV on the Kodi platform is getting better with more options available. But at the same time all of these addons popping up and then going down makes the average user confused and frustrated. Our thoughts on Live TV within Kodi is that you have to be happy when it works consistently, but you have to understand that you may have to search around and do some homework on your part if you want to enjoy quality live TV streams.

Kodi 4K Video Add-on

There is a new Kodi 4K add-on called 4K Media that is offering high definition quality content to those with the hardware and internet speeds to handle it. That means Kodi 4K Video, Kodi 5.1 DTS surround sound, and Kodi HD 3D movies as well!
Inside of the Kodi 4K Media add-on, there are four categories: 3D HD, 3D HD Live (Coming Soon), 4K, 4K Live TV, and HD Movies. The live sections don’t offer a lot of content because there isn’t a lot of live content in 3D or 4K! However, the 3D HD, 4K, and HD movies will have something for everyone!
Because Kodi 4K video content files are big anyway, the files don’t have the audio stripped down to 2 channels! That means that if you don’t have a 4K TV to enjoy the Kodi 4K quality, you can still watch all of the videos in 1080p high definition with the added bonus of Dolby 5.1 surround sound!
To get the Kodi 4K Media add-on, follow these instructions:
  • Download the Pipccan repository by clicking here and save it somewhere you can find later.
  • From the Kodi main menu, go to SYSTEM > Add-ons > Install From Zip File
  • Select the Pipccan repository you saved above and wait for the install confirmation from Kodi!
  • Click on Get Add-ons (Kodi 14) or Install From Repository (Kodi 15) and scroll down to “My Kodi Repo” and you’ll notice that the author is Pipccan.
  • Inside of My Kodi Repo, click Video Add-ons > 4K Media > Install. Wait for the add-on installed notification and that is it! You are ready to go. The Kodi 4K video add-on can be found under your video add-ons and it’s called “4K Media”.
And that’s it! Are you lucky enough to enjoy Kodi 4K video? Let us know how it looks on our Facebook pages!
